We spent the last week of june 2016 in zakynthos at Astir Palace. The hotel is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly, but if I will come back in Zakynthos I will probably look for other options. Pros: - clean rooms - friendly staff - breakfast ok Cons: - the fridge is locked, 2€ /day for the key to unlock - charge for air conditioner and safe box - no hair dryer in the room - cold water ... I don`t really understand why so manny people are unsatisfied by this hotel, maybe they are used with luxury, and this is not a luxury hotel. Astir Palace is very well positioned on the sandy beach of Laganas, close to the main street where there are a lot of bars, restaurants, etc. but also in a quiet location - we slept very good.
